Central Retail Logistics Drives Waste Separation Efforts through the “Bottle Merit” Project, 3rd Edition, Transforming Plastic Bottles into Monk Robes at Wat Jak Daeng

Central Retail Logistics (CRL) is committed to conducting its business with a strong sense of social and environmental responsibility. One of the company’s key initiatives is to continuously encourage employees to participate in waste separation at source within office and warehouse areas. Particular emphasis is placed on the separation of plastic bottles to ensure proper recycling processes and to reduce the volume of waste requiring disposal.

Through the collective efforts of employees across all functions, segregated plastic bottles are accumulated and transformed into social value through the “Bottle Merit” Project, one of CRL’s sustainability-driven initiatives. Under this project, plastic bottles are donated to Wat Jak Daeng, Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan Province, where they are processed into polyester fibers and woven into monk robes for the Buddhist clergy.

This initiative marks CRL’s third participation in the Bottle Merit Project. On Monday, 19 January 2026, Central Retail Logistics delivered a total of 32,999 plastic bottles to Wat Jak Daeng. These bottles can be recycled into 550 monk robes, reflecting the strong collective commitment of employees to transform waste into valuable resources for society.

The activity was honored by the presence of Mr. Tanaesorn Nuangjumnong, Supply Chain Director, together with the management teams and employees from Central Retail Logistics and Non-Food warehouses, who actively participated in and supported the initiative. This collaboration represents a practical approach to reducing waste generated from operational processes while reinforcing the principles of the Circular Economy.

In addition, the transportation of plastic bottles for this donation utilized electric vehicles (EVs) from Central Retail Logistics’ warehouse fleet, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from logistics operations. This approach aligns with the company’s environmental objectives and its long-term commitment to advancing sustainable logistics practices.

According to information from Wat Jak Daeng, 15 plastic bottles can be recycled into one monk robe. This initiative not only helps reduce the amount of plastic waste that could potentially leak into the environment, but also minimizes the use of new resources while generating social value through support for religious activities. It represents a meaningful way of making merit while actively caring for the planet.

Central Retail Logistics remains committed to fostering employee participation in waste separation and continuously supporting sustainability initiatives. Through these efforts, the company aims to play an active role in addressing environmental challenges, creating shared value for society, and driving sustainable growth across all dimensions of its operations.
