Driving Sustainability: An Overview of Central Retail’s Environmental Policy

Central Retail Corporation PCL (the "Company") has reaffirmed its commitment to environmentally friendly business practices through a comprehensive Environmental Policy. This policy is built upon a foundation of legal compliance, international standards, and social responsibility to achieve sustainable development goals.

Core Commitments

Central Retail focuses on climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy management, and the prevention of air and water pollution. The policy also emphasizes waste management and the conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity. Crucially, this commitment extends beyond internal operations to include the entire value chain, encompassing partners, service providers, contractors, and joint ventures to ensure a collective reduction in environmental impact.

7 Key Operational Guidelines

To translate these goals into action, the Company has established seven primary focus areas:

  1. Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction: Promoting clean energy, energy conservation, and the use of low-carbon technologies in buildings and transportation.
  2. Zero Waste to Landfill: Integrating Circular Economy principles, such as waste segregation for recycling, eliminating single-use plastics in house brands, and reducing food waste.
  3. Ecosystem Impact Reduction: Assessing and minimizing the environmental footprint of business operations, travel, and resource consumption.
  4. Sustainable Procurement: Prioritizing local supply chains and eco-friendly materials by incorporating product life-cycle assessments into procurement processes.
  5. Green Products and Services: Developing and offering products that contribute to environmental, resource, and energy conservation.
  6. Sustainable Logistics: Enhancing transportation efficiency to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
  7. Sustainable Consumption: Communicating and raising awareness to promote responsible consumption behaviors among employees and customers

Management and Governance

To ensure effective implementation, Central Retail has established a Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee, which includes at least three directors and the CEO. This committee oversees the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) framework and strategy. Additionally, the Company conducts annual environmental risk assessments for each business unit and provides progress reports to the Board of Directors every quarter.

This Environmental Policy has been in effect since June 26, 2025, marking a significant step in the Company’s journey to create a stable world for current and future generations.
