CMG Warehouse Supply Chain Showcases the Waste Paper Recycling Project to Support Central Retail's Net Zero Goal

On 6 August 2026, CMG Warehouse Supply Chain took part in the Shaping Net Zero Program at Central Tower, centralwOrld. The team joined other business units to present sustainability projects that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support Central Retail's Net Zero goal.
One of the featured projects was the Waste Paper Recycling Project, which turns waste paper into recycled paper cushioning for product packaging. The recycled paper is used instead of plastic bubble wrap to protect products during packing and delivery. This helps reduce single-use plastic, increases the use of recyclable materials, and lowers environmental impact.
The project started in 2024 and has gradually expanded to several product categories in both offline and online operations, including Cosmetics, Hardline, and Watches. From 2024 to 2026, the project achieved significant results:
- Reduced plastic use by 9.40 tonnes
- Reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 23.5 tCO₂e
- Saved more than THB 1.51 million in operating costs
- These results are equal to reducing the use of more than 310,000 plastic bottles (1.5 litres) or planting over 1,070 trees.
The project also supports the Circular Economy by giving waste paper a new purpose instead of disposing of it. It helps improve packaging while protecting products and reducing environmental impact.
In the future, CMG Warehouse Supply Chain plans to expand the use of recycled paper cushioning to more product categories and continue promoting Sustainable Packaging as part of its standard operations. This supports the goal of becoming 100% Bubble Wrap Free by 2050 and contributes to Central Retail's journey toward a more sustainable future.
